Mah Jongg in St. Louis
If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd be teaching Mah Jongg in St. Louis, hosting social events, and opening a club built around connection, I probably wouldn't have believed you.

For most of my career, I have worked in corporate leadership roles focused on strategy, transformation, and helping organizations navigate change. While I love solving complex problems and building high-performing teams, I eventually discovered something unexpected around a mahjong table: people weren't just learning a game. They were finding confidence, friendship, laughter, and community.

What began as a personal interest quickly grew into a passion for teaching.
As a co-founder of Mah Jongg Minds, I had the privilege of helping hundreds of people learn the National Mah Jongg League game. I watched complete beginners walk through the door feeling nervous and unsure, only to return a few weeks later with new skills, new friendships, and a new favorite hobby.
Again and again, I saw the same thing happen.

People came for the mahjong.
They stayed for the connection.

That realization became the inspiration behind Clover Club.

What is Clover Club?
Clover Club was created to be more than a place to learn Mah Jongg in St. Louis.

It's a place to gather.
Â
A place to meet people who share your interests.
Â
A place where beginners feel welcome, experienced players feel challenged, and everyone has a seat at the table.

Whether you're attending your very first class, joining a league, becoming a regular at Open Tables, or simply looking for a reason to get out of the house and connect with others, my goal is for Clover Club to feel warm, welcoming, and approachable from the moment you arrive.

The game may bring us together, but the relationships are what keep us coming back.
My Teaching Philosophy
Learning something new can feel intimidating, especially when it seems like everyone else already knows what they're doing.

That's why I believe the best learning happens in an environment where questions are encouraged, mistakes are expected, and nobody feels judged.
Â
My classes focus on building confidence as much as building skill. I break down complex concepts into manageable pieces, encourage participation, and meet players where they are in their journey.

Whether you're learning your first Charleston or refining advanced strategy, you'll find support, encouragement, and plenty of opportunities to grow your game.
One of my favorite things about mahjong is that every game begins the same way: by pulling up a chair and inviting someone to join.
